“I just moved back to the West Coast from New York City. I was really homesick throughout the process of writing this EP, and I buried myself in soul and garage records at the time. I found some solace spending time with my friends Jake Backer (Bird Language) and Matt Gibbs (Evolfo, Rodes Rollins), and writing music together. The record is a blunt and honest look at living in a big city, falling in love, and then breaking up. I tried to have a sense of humor about the whole thing, and writing and recording the record was really cathartic. It was especially nice to move back to the West Coast and finish recording this love letter to romance and heartbreak in NYC.”
